About Me

Dr. Wolkenberg was awarded his Ph.D. in clinical psychology by Emory University in its Division 40 Neuropsychology Program. His internship was at the West Haven Veterans Administration Division 40 Neuropsychology internship. He is licensed in Maryland and sees a broad variety of adolescent and adult clients in therapy, and specializes in neuropsychology with a particular focus on lifespan developmental issues such as the ADHD and Learning Disabilities diagnoses as they manifest after childhood. He also has extensive experience in issues relating to aging and to acquired brain injury including concussion. Among his areas of expertise is the diagnosis and treatment of health care professionals who have become a subject of concern.


In addition to his own clinical practice, Dr. Wolkenberg has worked as a clinician with The Chesapeake ADHD Center in Silver Spring, MD, Comprehensive Geriatric Services, and with Sky Neurological Services in Pikesville, MD. He also has had significant research experience, working for the National Institute on Drug Abuse's Intramural Program/Brain Imaging Section as a research scientist. He was also a senior scientist at the MedStar Health Research Institute, consulting with the MedStar Sports Medicine program based at Union Memorial Hospital on research and clinical protocols related to concussion, and was a senior technical advisor to AnthroTronix, developing a new generation of computerized cognitive testing instruments for the Navy Bureau of Medicine and Surgery.


Dr. Wolkenberg is a member of the International Neuropsychological Society, where he has presented research a number of times, and the National Academy of Neuropsychology and is listed in the National Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology. He has been certified as an expert in psychology and neuropsychology by the United States District Court for the District of Maryland as well as in Maryland State courts, Baltimore City, and Maryland Administrative Courts. Dr. Wolkenberg’s CV can be found here. 


He is the father of an adult daughter, and a lifelong athlete who has been a nationally ranked fencer, holds a black belt in aikido and is a committed if inept student of Tai Chi Chuan.
